Lambda Solutions today announced that the Adoptive Families Association of BC has renewed its contract with the company for Moodle hosting and support. This follows the successful launch of the organization’s online adoption training program based on Lambda’s open technology platform.

Sophia Barton-Bucknor, Education and Youth Services Manager for AFABC, says outsourcing Lambda’s comprehensive open platform was the right choice, and that the support and expertise brought to the project by Lambda was outstanding. “We could see that online learning would be better for our clients who are spread across the province. We needed a trusted platform partner, like Lambda, to help us with the technology and eLearning expertise we needed to grow.”

AFABC approached Lambda Solutions for help with the project. “Because Lambda offered a comprehensive package including expertise in online learning management and the complete open training platform, we felt we were in good hands. Lambda also met our conditions for data security and privacy, which were critical,” said Barton-Bucknor.

“Moving our courses online has been a critical step in our strategy to make programs available to more people in our jurisdiction,” says Barton-Bucknor. “Now governments in other jurisdictions are interested in our courses for their clients and we are looking at doubling enrollments next year. Our partnership with Lambda Solutions makes this possible.”

Lambda CEO, Shevy Levy, points to the success of the project as an example of how a growing organization can take advantage of an open source technology to achieve its goals. “The use of our fully managed, open platform and expertise has allowed AFABC to dramatically increase the number of clients served—and even create a new revenue source–something we love to see.”
