Import a Basic Product with No Attributes

When importing product data for the first time, new product data entries are created in the store database. The CSV sheet for the initial product import can contain as many product attributes as the store can recognize. You can also delete unnecessary attributes. However, there are certain product attributes that are required for a successful import.

The required attributes to include in your CSV file are:
  • sku

  • name

  • attribute_set_code

  • product_type

  • categories

  • product_websites

  • tax_class_name

  • visibility

  • price

  • url_key

  • qty

Some necessary attributes that you can include in your CSV file are:

  • description
  • product_online
  • store_view_code

Import a Product with Additional Attributes

Attributes are the building blocks of your product catalog, and describe specific characteristics of a certain product. They determine the type of input control that is used for product options, product comparisons, can provide additional information for product pages, and are used as search parameters. Thus, additional attributes can be created for a specific type of product.

We can create as many attributes and attribute sets as necessary to describe the products in your catalog. However, we must first know the type of product and the associated attributes that you are thinking of including in your upload. Thus, we have designed this sheet for you to complete.

Import a Product with Images

Multiple product images can be imported into the store with their associated products. The path and file name of each product image is entered into the CSV file, and the imported image files are uploaded into the server.

You can download the following CSV sheet, edit the data, and send it back to our team to upload.

Requirements:

        • No spaces (i.e., use underscores to separate words)
        • The image names for the CSV sheet and the zip file must be exactly the same (i.e., they both must have the name names with no capital letters)
