1.  On the Lambda Store admin panel, click Catalog > Synchronize with Lambda Learn to access the Synchronization Options page.

This page lists the various options that you can choose to synchronize or ignore.

Update images decides whether or not course images are synchronized.

Update statuses decides whether or not course visibilities are synchronized.

Add to categories menu allows you to add courses to other categories in addition to their default Lambda Learn category.

important  NOTE

All courses that have the Lambda Store as a listed Enrolment method will be resynchronized into the Lambda Store with each synchronization.

If you have made any changes to a course on your Lambda Store website, but not on your Lambda Learn website, then a synchronization will result in your Lambda Store changes being overwritten by the data on the Lambda Learn website.

If you would like to keep any changes that you have made separately on your Lambda Store website, then set the Update [option] to No.

2.  Review the course options that you would like to synchronize and that you would like to ignore, and then click Review Changes. If you would like to reset the options to their original settings, click Reset Options. synchronizereview

3.  The Synchronization Review page will show you all of the synchronization updates that will occur. If you are satisfied with these updates, click Apply Changes.

4.  Once the synchronization is complete, you will be redirected to the Applied Changes page, which lists all of the synchronization updates - including the synchronization of your Lambda Learn courses into your website.

Synchronizing Options Example: Ignoring Descriptions

Titan Technologies courses often default to having longer course and product descriptions on their Lambda Learn website. However, they would like to create more marketable descriptions for their Lambda Store website.

To ignore synchronizing course and product descriptions into the Lambda Store website:

1.  Follow the steps to prepare the desired course(s) for synchronization on the Lambda Learn website.

2.  In the Lambda Store admin panel, click Catalog > Synchronize with Lambda Learn to access the Synchronization Options page.

3.  Under both Category options and Product options, set Update descriptions to No.

4.  Click Review Changes.

5.  Review the Synchronization Review page. Then, click Apply Changes.

6.  The synchronization is complete, and now Titan Technologies can create different descriptions for their course listings on the Lambda Store website.

Synchronizing Options Example: Additional Categories

The Titan Technologies course, Introduction to Economics, is only listed under the 'Economics' category on their Lambda Learn website. For organizational purposes, they cannot list this course under any other category. However, they would like to also list it under the 'Online Courses' category on their Lambda Store website.

To add Introduction to Economics to an additional category:

1.  Follow the steps to prepare Introduction to Economics for synchronization on the Lambda Learn website.

2.  In the Lambda Store admin panel, click Catalog > Synchronize with Lambda Learn to access the Synchronization Options page.

3.  In the Add to categories menu, select the 'Online Courses' category.

2.  Find your desired course on the grid, and click Edit under the Action column. This will redirect you to the course's Product Editing page.

Using the Basic Tools

Using the Basic Settings

5.  Adjust the Quantity of your course. The quantity refers to the number of seats in a course that are available to purchase on your website. The default setting is empty, so you must add a quantity to ensure that the course is available to purchase.

This setting allows you to limit the number of seats available in a course. If there is no limit, you can input a number high enough to ensure that the course remains available to purchase.

6.  When your course has available seats, set the Stock Status to 'In Stock' so that the course can be visible from the website. Otherwise, set it to 'Out of Stock.' When the quantity reaches zero, the Stock Status automatically defaults to 'Out of Stock.'

TIP  TIP

When adding course images on Lambda Learn, there are many things to consider:

  • Save your images as web-optimized files, such as .svg, .png, or .jpg. This will help ensure better page loading times and efficient mobile data usage for mobile users.
  • Course images will be automatically resized and may be likely to be cropped vertically or horizontally on different pages, so it is best to use square images.
  • Avoid adding text to your images, or use no more than three words. Images often end up scaled down, so if you would like to add text, then you should consider how readable it could be first.
  • There are no default image sizes, as images are automatically resized if required. Thus, avoid heavy files and instead look for the right balance between image quality and file size.

When adding separate course images on the Lambda Store website, there are other things to consider:

When uploading the main image of a course, image zoom is activated if an image is uploaded that is larger than the image container. Depending on the level of zoom that you would like to achieve, the base image should be two to three times the size of the container.

A good example size for uploading a base image is 470 by 470 pixels (without an image zoom), and 1100 by 1100 pixels (with an image zoom).

10.  If you would like to upload a promotional course video, then click the Add Video button on the right-hand size of the screen. Click here if you would like to learn more about adding promotional videos to your products.

Enrollment Settings

11. Scroll down and expand the Enrollment Settings section. This section is mandatory for all products, and allows you to determine the enrollment dates for courses and virtual products.

12.  Expand the Enrollment Start section.
