Solving the Reporting Problem in Moodle & Totara LMS

Written by Lambda Solutions | Jun 23, 2015

Research from the Brandon Hall Group highlights the fact that LMS Reporting is the number one reason why organizations replace their LMS. We are in the era of data and analytics so it is increasingly the case that eLearning Managers need to report on the value of their online learning and training programs. Specifically, Training and Development Managers need to show how their efforts impact business outcomes. In addition to this, the top three reasons why people are dissatisfied with LMS reporting capabilities are:

  1. Limited access to data
  2. Limited capabilities to analyze data
  3. Limited options to present and share data

Last week we presented a live demo of Lambda Zoola for over 100 Moodle and Totara users to show how the reporting solutions solved the aforementioned shortcomings. In this webinar we were able to gain insight into what reporting frustrations were top of mind which you can see in the poll results below:

Not surprisingly, the most frustrating issue is the excessive time spent creating reports with meaningful data. We have heard from many Moodle users who indicate that the only sure way to get the data the need is through the manual creation of reports via excel spreadsheets. One particular customer of ours, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, used to spend nearly two weeks, four times a year creating Moodle Reports to prove the success of their eLearning programs. This is synonymous with the poll results below wherein the majority of Moodle and Totara users spend between 1 and 2 weeks creating reports.

Watch the webinar, Solving the Reporting Problem in Moodle and Totara to see how you can create reports on the information you need in minutes, not weeks.
